Sea Glass Facts:

What Is Sea Glass?

Glass bottles tossed and broken along the ocean shoreline washed, tumbled, and rolled over the rocks, sand, and seas shells by the incoming waves and tides. This creates the natural frosted look of sea glass.

Why Is Sea Glass So Rare?

The world is becoming a "plastic society" - everything is disposable now. Some colors of glass are no longer even made, so when you find a frosted [iece of glass along the beach, feel special - it is probablly 15-20 years old, and you may never find a piece just like it!

How can you tell how old a piece of sea glass is?

The more frosted it is, the older it is. It takes years of polishing, rubbing, rolling, tumbling, and washing up along the shoreline among rocks and sand for the smooth hard layer of glass to become rough blunt and non-transparent.
